How to Do It Manually

A Unix timestamp is the number of seconds elapsed since January 1, 1970 00:00:00 UTC (the Unix epoch). To convert manually, count seconds from that point.

Unix Timestamp = (Date − 1970-01-01 00:00:00 UTC) in seconds
  1. Find the number of days between January 1, 1970 and your target date.
  2. Multiply days by 86400 (seconds per day).
  3. Add the hours × 3600, minutes × 60, and seconds for the time component.
  4. The result is the Unix timestamp.
