What is the difference between margin and markup?
Margin is profit relative to selling price. Markup is profit relative to cost. A 50% markup does not equal a 50% margin.
How do I price a product for a target margin?
Price = Cost ÷ (1 − Target Margin %). For a 40% margin: Price = Cost ÷ 0.60.
